Affect Vs Effect

Hello fellas!

First ENGLISH-VINGLISH segment is to know what's differences between affect and effect and when to use it.

Important notes!
> Affect is a VERB, which means to influence something. Such as, Down power line AFFECT PNM customers.
= the downed power line had an impact on some power customers: they were without electricity overnight.

Mean while
>Effect is a NOUN, which means the result OR the impact of something OR an outcome.
Example:
: The EFFECT of persistent sleepness

Somehow, effect also can be used as a verb to mean OR to cause.
example: A government unable to EFFECT any change is a government that will produce no surprises.

TIPS TIPS TIPS!!!
if there's "a/an/the" in front of it, it's an effect

IN CONCLUSION,
you'll want affect as a verb meaning to influence something and EFFECT for something that was influenced.
The difference between affect and effect is so slippery that people have started using "impact" as a verb instead. Don't be one of them!

Another trick to remember that;
Affect comes first  alphabetically, and an action(to affect) has occur before you can have a result (an effect)

till we meet again in next entry for English-Vinglish section.

with lot of thought,
Smoochie.
